The newly formed IBSP Council has the express purpose of collaboratively advancing consensus driven provincial workplace safety prevention initiatives, and will champion the creation and support of industry led, industry funded and industry driven IBSPs.

“The mission of the ISBP Council is to partner with WCB Manitoba, SAFE Work Manitoba, the Manitoba Employers Council and related stakeholders,” says Ron Koslowsky, Manitoba Vice President, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters. “And to support workplace injury prevention and safe return to work initiatives through strategies, education and training services, delivered by industry led and funded Safety Programs.”

“This new council,” adds Winston Maharaj, President & CEO of WCB Manitoba, “supports the development and evolution of safety and health programming in the province by providing a common voice of their representative employer groups.”

“The service that IBSPs provide to Manitoba employers in their industries,” he continues, “is a critical component of the strategy to reduce workplace injury and illness in the province. An industry led, industry funded and industry driven IBSP Council will undoubtedly prove to advance achievements in workplace injury prevention and return to work objectives.”
