New President and CEO to lead Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission

The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut is pleased to announce the appointment of Debbie Molloy as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of WSCC for a five-year term, effective Monday, August 12, 2019.

“Debbie has a fantastic blend of skills that will help drive the WSCC forward,” says David Tucker, Chair of the WSCC Governance Council. “She’s a proven leader and I know her talents, passion, and vision make a great addition to our organization.”

Debbie has over 25 years of progressive executive leadership experience. She brings extensive experience in health services and the energy sector, with a strong background in strategic planning, occupational health and safety, and organizational effectiveness.

Debbie most recently served as the Vice-President of Corporate Services for Eastern Health in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, where she provided senior leadership to the organization with 13,000 employees, 750 physicians, 2,200 volunteers and 900 students, and serving a population of 300,000.

Following the departure of WSCC’s Dave Grundy in May, Kim Collins Riffel served as the Interim President.

“Kim kept our organization steady over the last four months,” says David, “and has helped ensure a smooth transition in leadership. Her insight and reliability were invaluable during this evolution period, and we thank her for that.”
