British Columbia has added eight additional cancers to the list of presumptive occupational diseases for firefighters, giving them easier access to workers’ compensation benefits. The change brings B.C.’s total to the highest number of recognized firefighter cancers in Canada, reflecting the elevated cancer risks linked to firefighting exposures.
