June 23, 2025 (WINNIPEG) The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) released its 2024 Annual Report and Five Year Plan today. Now available on the WCB website, the report highlights the organization's strong financial performance, record-high customer satisfaction and continued investment in our workforce.
"I'm proud of what our organization has accomplished over the past year as we continue to advance the goals outlined in our Five Year Plan," said Catherine Skinner, President and CEO of the WCB. "This year's report demonstrates not only the financial strength of the workers' compensation system, but also the meaningful progress we've made in prevention, education and service delivery."
In 2024, injured worker and employer satisfaction with the WCB reached record highs, with the majority of customer survey respondents indicating they would speak positively about their experience with the organization. Participation in return to work workshops also rose significantly, as more employers recognized the importance of early and sustained involvement in the return to work process. WCB employees also benefited from expanded professional development and growth opportunities, further strengthening internal capacity. These outcomes reflect the WCB’s continued commitment to delivering value, enhancing service and strengthening trust with its stakeholders.
The WCB continues to have the lowest average assessment rate in Canada at $0.95. Despite inflationary pressures, the organization preserved a strong and sustainable funding reserve, ensuring long-term support for injured workers and financial stability for the compensation system.
