The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister Responsible for WorkplaceNL, today announced the appointment of Louise Bradley as the Injured Worker Public Representative to the WorkplaceNL Board of Directors. The appointment is for a three-year term and is effective immediately.
Ms. Bradley was appointed following a merit-based selection process administered by the Independent Appointments Commission, as required by the Independent Appointments Commission Act.

BACKGROUNDER
Biography of Louise Bradley
Louise Bradley started her career as a Registered Nurse in western Newfoundland and has since devoted her efforts to many different areas of mental health. Most recently, Ms. Bradley retired from the Mental Health Commission of Canada as its president and chief executive officer after nearly 12 years. In this role, she oversaw many firsts such as the development of the Mental Health Strategy for Canada, along with the development of the world’s first Psychological Safety Standard for the Workplace, an achievement she is incredibly proud of.
Upon her retirement from the Mental Health Commission of Canada two years ago, Ms. Bradley returned to her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador. She currently sits on several boards both locally and nationally; and is also the mental health advisor and chair of a working group for Her Excellency, the Governor General of Canada. For her contributions to mental health, Ms. Bradley has received many awards including four Honorary Doctorates from Canadian universities. She is also the recipient of both the Order of Canada and the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ms. Bradley holds a bachelor of nursing from Dalhousie University, and a master of science from Northeastern University in Boston, along with other advanced education qualifications in her field.
