Karen Adams strengthens leadership team for improved service, leveraging technology.
In exciting changes that speak to a hyper-focus on service through technology, Chief Executive Officer Karen Adams has strengthened her executive leadership team. The changes put a distinct focus on strategic oversight of the organization’s core prevention and return-to-work business, enhancing the WCB’s capacity to engage with and deliver service to Nova Scotians in new ways. They also enable more focus on improving outcomes in workplaces that have the most injuries, to reduce both the impact on people and costs to the system.
They build on the recent addition of CTO Gaëtan Boudreau to the Executive team.
Dennita Fitzpatrick becomes Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for the WCB’s service delivery and service excellence teams. Dennita served most recently as the WCB’s Vice President of Prevention and Return to Work.
Shelly Dauphinee is Chief Engagement Officer, providing strategic leadership to the WCB’s most important customer and industry relationships, leading the employer relationships and psychological injury portfolios.
Maureen Boyd will continue to serve as the WCB’s Chief Financial Officer, while Marcy Dalton will assume her regular responsibilities as Chief People Officer, as her work representing the WCB for Government’s review over the past several months draws to a close.
“We need change, and change takes leadership,” CEO Karen Adams says. “This alignment will help us provide exceptional service to employers and to workers, end to end, with prevention and RTW as our highest priorities.”
Other changes and new positions will continue to drive prevention, return to work and service improvements, while placing increased focus on risk management, generating better data, and strategic health services.
“The changes I’m making will bring more focus and accountability to the areas Nova Scotians have told us we need to improve,” says Karen. “Our Strategic Plan sets a bold vision for us to protect more workers and employers from the impact of workplace injury by 2030. I’m confident that with this new executive team structure, our goal to become the best in Canada at what we do will be achieved.”
