WorkSafeBC Personal Optional Protection (POP) is an optional insurance plan, designed to cover your income loss should you suffer a work-related injury or disease. While an injury or illness can be devastating to both you and your family, it can take an even heavier toll if you don’t have enough insurance to cover basic living expenses.
With recent increases to B.C.’s minimum wage, we need to ensure employers with POP insurance have sufficient coverage in the event of a work-related injury or illness. As a result, we are making some changes to the POP coverage amounts next year.
To learn more about these changes, which will be effective January 1, 2021, please see Changes to Personal Optional Protection coverage amounts in 2021.
