WSIB Ontario’s board appoints new Fair Practices Commissioner

The Board of Directors of Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) has passed a resolution appointing Anna Martins as its new Fair Practices Commissioner, Chair Elizabeth Witmer has announced. Ms. Martins has served as Acting Commissioner since August of this year.

“We are delighted to endorse Anna for this important position,” Witmer said. “She brings integrity to the role, in addition to her broad knowledge of our organization.”

The Fair Practices Commission is the organizational ombudsman for the WSIB.

The Commission provides an independent, neutral and confidential service for injured workers, employers and service providers with complaints about the services they receive from the WSIB. The Commission also tracks complaint trends, identifies systemic issues and recommends improvements to the WSIB.
