The Workers Compensation Board of Prince Edward Island is creating a list of qualified candidates to fill Case Coordinator and Entitlement Officer positions as they become available.

Case Coordinator / Entitlement Officers
(To Establish a List of Qualified Candidates)

Reporting to the Manager, Work Disability Prevention & Long Term Benefits, Case Coordinators utilize a client centered approach in managing claims of workers who are experiencing work disability due to a workplace injury. They work with employers, injured workers and health care providers to assist in achieving a safe and timely return to work using established work disability prevention strategies. Case Coordinators coordinate the activities of internal and external resources, in planning and executing recovery and return to work.

Reporting to the Manager, Claim Processing & Adjudication, Entitlement Officers adjudicate and determine entitlement to benefits on all incoming claims within established standards and benchmarks. Entitlement Officers are responsible for gathering information and examining claims for the purpose of determining entitlement, and referring as appropriate to the Work Disability Prevention or Long Term Benefits Section.

These positions interpret and apply Workers Compensation Board legislation, policies and procedures.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a post-secondary degree (preferably in health or social sciences) supplemented by 3 years’ experience in a responsible position demonstrating the applicant’s decision making abilities, analytical and critical thinking skills, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Experience working in a client centered team environment with responsibility for interpreting legislation and policy and/or determining entitlement; as well as demonstrated ability to manage a client case load is preferred.

Preferences will be given to internal candidates who meet the above criteria.

Salary Range: Level 17: $31.10 – $38.86 per hour
